My daughter enjoys this wagon and it does help her as she is learning to walk.In particular, she enjoys taking items out of the bin. Although the wheel traction slows her down a bit, she still managers to push the wagon faster than her little legs are willing to go and ends up pushing it on her knees. I would recommend it.
This is by far the best toy that we have ever gotten our son. He is 10 1/2 months old and walking every where with this thing. It encourages them to walk and it is fun for them to ride in too. We have hardwood floors so the other push toys would go too fast. This one has the "slow down" clickers that make it not go as fast. It is WONDERFUL!!! We LOVE this product and think that everyone should get one.
We bought this in December 2008, and our son (now 12 months old) has loved it ever since. We really liked the clicking mechanism, since it helps keep a beginning walker from falling flat on his/her face.
However, just today (almost 4 months later), our son discovered a tapered bit of clear plastic on the floor -- measuring approximately 15 x 4 mm. After investigating, we found it had broken off of the clicker from one of the wheels on this wagon. This is a choking hazard, and was exactly the same problem resulting in a recall of this product in past years (up to 2005). The clicker has been re-engineered (the recalled ones were black, this one is clear), but this problem seems identical to the one resulting in the prior recall.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL IF YOU HAVE THIS PRODUCT! I've reported this to the CPSC, and will call Radio Flyer tomorrow during the day. I'll post an update if I get more information. For now, we've taken out the other clicker and thrown it away.
My son is just learning to walk so my Mom bought him this wagon. He climbs up on it and walks with it across our living room!!! It's so cute! He also likes to load up the cart with his favorite toys for a ride. We take it to the park sometimes and all the kids come over to play with it. It's a popular little cart. I love it.
We all love this wagon!!! We got it for my daughter when she was 9 months. She is now almost 14 months. I loved that it didn't turn because when she was not walking on her own I wanted her to have stability. But she can get it to turn now that she is older! We have not had any problems with any parts coming off at all. My daughter uses this wagon often. Now that it is spring she uses the wagon up and down the cul-de-sac. Still no problems with parts. My husband found it easy to put together. I read reviews and the few 1 star and 2 star baffle me. We have found it extremely durable! We love it and think it was definitely money well spent!!
I got this product [...] from Amazon.com[...]. One of the wood pieces was cracked which my husband called in and got a very prompt replacement from Radio Flyer. However the wheels we got are hollow, plastic and cheap. They are not the wheels in the picture. The wheels in the picture are solid, heavy and have a grippy-texture to them which is touted as one of the features of this wagon. I know this from comparing one in a store. This makes me mad to be getting an inferior product. I thought I was getting a deal but now understand why the price was so cheap. I would rather pay a couple bucks more for the quality version and am very upset that different versions exist.
Incredible quality. Looks adorable. We bought this for our baby's 1st bday, within a few weeks he could walk on his own. He still loves to push it around. Put stuff in and take it out. By far the best thing we've ever purchased for our son.
Purchased for my one year old granddaughter's birthday because she is walking and most pushable walkers go way too fast; this one is built to resist just enough to make it much safer. The other granddaughter loved riding in it. Great bumper for crashing into walls and very sturdy. Good purchase and very durable.
My 1 and 1/2 year-old was given this as a gift almost a year ago,and we mainly use it as an open toy box in her room. She hasn't shown much interest in pushing it around. It is heavy, cumbersome and hard for her to turn and get out of tight corners. She likes to take the wooden sides off, and is able to fish her toys out of it easily. It appears sturdy and is not likely to tip over unlike some small push carts. She has climbed into it a few times, so far without a mishap.
This little wagon is the perfect size for an early walker. My grandson loves pushing it and also loves being pushed in it. The first one I ordered arrived damaged. Amazon sent out a replacement immediately, but unfortunately, it did not arrive in time for Christmas travel. Therefore, if you purchase something like the wagon that needs to be assembled, open it immediately and inspect for damage so you have time to get the replacement, if necessary.
