This product represents a mom's failed attempt to improve her 5 yr. old son's interest in his developing literacy skills. He pays it no attention. I hope in a year or so he'll find some use for it. Wishful thinking on my part.

The stamps are good quality, easy to hold and comes in a sturdy storage box (no lid). The stamped letters are clear and the font is easy to read. Toddlers enjoy stamping, pre-schoolers enjoy creating letters and words and the older kids cards, etc. Kids can also trace stamped letters adding to its educational value. The only drawback is it can be difficult to get the stamps out of the box so it really challenges those fine motor skills.

I gave these to a friend as a gift, so I have not used them myslef, but I have recieved many letters written with the stamps!



They are a great size and the box it all comes in looks very impressive. I reccomend this as a gift for anyone who likes arts and crafts.

I purchased this for my granddaughter who is four and a half years old. She absolutely loves it. It comes with all the stamps to create a farm scene or horse corral or a day in the park. The stamps are sharp and crisp and easy to color in. I did purchase additional color pencils from a local art supply store as the ones supplied were not soft enough for coloring by a small hand. The ink is washable but will not come off clothing as easily and may take several washings to come out. She also likes when I hand draw roads and mountains and she just stamps in the rest.It comes with a wood storage box and everything fits in neatly including the additional pencils I purchased. This is a great product and she plays with it for hours.


My four year old loves drawing and coloring. I bought this stamp set for her on a whim and she loves it, as I expected. She likes to stamp and then she colors the images with coloring pencils. This kit is not perfect though. It has only two colors of stamp ink, but she doesn't mind that at all.

First, the kit has no cover. Melissa and Doug used to include plastic covers with their wooden sets and they stopped. I really don't like this change. It affects all sorts of toys, not just this one, but without covers, we deal with more lost pieces.

Second, the stampers themselves are nice and solid but the pictures on the stampers are stickers and those stickers are starting to come off after only two weeks. The stampers are still usable but I am disappointed in the durability.

This is a 3.5 star item. The price is good. But I have a feeling that there are better quality stamp sets out there.


We got the stamp set for my daughter for Christmas and she really enjoys it. Lots of different stamp options, and they are all related, so you can create scenes that make sense. House, farm, little animals. The stamp set comes with 2 color stamp pads - red & blue, so it's nice to have those 2 options. And the colored pencils are a nice touch for filling in any "empty" parts once the stamp is stamped on the paper. The stamps are sturdy, and they fit easily when you put them back in the box. No wrestling or squeezing them back in. The only drawback is that you have to lay it flat to prevent the items from falling out. A cover would have been great. i highly recommend this stamp set. my 3yo loves to use it on paper and on his skin. yes, it takes some scrubbing to get off, but who cares?


This is a fun stamp set and has entertained my daughters on several occasions. However, the ink is not entirely washable. I have at least 2 shirts with stains from these stamps. My expectation was that it would be washable in the same way that washable markers are. No such luck.


We've had this stamp set for a year now, and it is still being used constantly by my son and daughter, age 5 now, and my other son, 4 now. They do not get tired of this toy! When I try to de-clutter and rotate the toys, they always notice if it's missing. (Which is more that can be said for most of their other toys). Super price for this set, considering how much it's loved!


A few pieces of paper and this kit can entertain my 4-yr-old daughter for at least 30 minutes at a time. I was impressed by how much you get for your money with this kit - 16 stamps, two ink pads and eight colored pencils. She loves to make pictures and cards for friends and family. It's a good way to nurture creativity.


My daughter who is almost five likes this. She has used stamps before and she thinks it is cool because it comes with pencils to color in the stamps. Good gift. creative gift.


This stamp set is the toy in CONSTANT use by my two daughters, ages 2 and 4. Each stamp is either an animal, plant, sun, barn or something like that, so the stamps can be combined to make little stories. The girls like to stamp and then color each one on their paper. The set comes with two pads, one red, one blue. That's plenty it seems. They have used the pads over and over and both are still perfectly wet. The stamps are high quality rubber mounted on wood, so they are very durable and make a nice clear impression. They are easy for little ones to hold, and yet older children love them too because they allow for lots of imaginative play.

I highly recommend this item, as well as most of the other Melissa and Doug toys.


I ordered the Deluxe Stamp Set as a stocking gift for Christmas and did not have high expectations, since it was relatively inexpensive. I was pleasantly surprised. The whole set is packaged in a sturdy, reusable, wooden crate. The stamps are very high quality, rendering clean, detailed pictures. The ink was also of good quality, and it was completely washable. The stamps were easy to clean after use. My only criticism is of the colored pencils. There weren't enough colors, they did not work well with the stamps, and they were hard to sharpen. We ended up coloring our pictures with magic markers instead. Overall, though, a great product!

Each color is divided in this 6 color stamp pad so there is no blending of colors. The set includes Non-toxic washable ink.

My boys really like this. The only complaint I would have, is they tend to put a stamp on color after color and the yellow is already blue. They might not do this if they were seperate stamps. The convienence of one stamp pad outweighs that problem.


This was part of a gift for my 4 year old grandson. It was exactly as represented and is just what I needed for him.


I've gotten the same enthusiasm for this stamp pad from my 4-yr-old daughter and 8-yr-old nephew. My nephew enjoyed my daughter's horse stamp set, so I bought him the dinosaur set recently. There is something extra special for the kids in getting that BIG, bright, extra stamp pad with the stamp pad in the stamp set! The colors are vibrant and offer so much more creativity when the kids are using the stamps. A worthwhile purchase!


It's beautiful and easy to use and carry around. My kid loves to add stamps to her drawings and colorings, and it's a good price too.


We've spent a fortune on stamp pads of individual colors, and this one is the best. It's fun for stamping and fingerprinting (like any of the Ed Emberley finger/thumb/funprint books). We love Ed Emberley around here, and his books are all multicolored, so you have a choice, either lose some of the magic with monochromatic fingerprinting, spend $30 on individual stamp pads - if you can find them, or BUY THIS!
