"Our 6 month old loves these" 2009-10-19
By CoEx Capt (Houston, TX USA)
These wooden blocks are beautiful and well made. Our almost 6 month old daughter can pick them up with one hand. The wood and craftsmanship is excellent with smooth edges and corners; made in the northern United States with this regions' wood. A classic toy.

 "Lots of fun!" 2009-09-22
By The Real Deal (Atlanta, GA)
I was looking for wooden blocks that were decently sized for my daughter. So many on the market are so small and after a while would be overlooked as a "baby toy" as the child grew. These were just perfect! Between the brilliant colors, nontoxic ink, durability, animals, alphabet, math signs and size - I knew this would be the perfect set for my daughter to grow up with! They're great for teaching eye hand coordination, taking turns, interactive play with others, building up and breaking down - this is definitely the block set to get with so many learning potentials to explore! I am very happy with this purchase!

 "Fun Blocks" 2009-06-29
By D James (Okinawa, Japan)
I originally was looking for STACKING blocks, so when I received these in the mail I was bummed at first. My son on the other hand was thrilled! He LOVES these blocks. I can still stack them and he loves to push them over! Not only that but he thews on them constantly. Not one has splintered yet. The corners aren't sharp (a positive), They're small enough for him to grab (@ 6 months of age)... another positive... and they are safe for him to put in his mouth. All in all, not what I was looking for, but turned out to be a great buy!

 "Beautiful Blocks!" 2009-06-09
By H. Whitmore (Holland, MI)
These blocks are beautiful, durable and easy to use. They make all our other alphabet blocks look pale in comparison. They have a letter, number sign and an animal on each block, which makes them very educational. My baby and toddler love them and are more attracted to them than the other blocks we have. I also love the blocks and have used them on occasion to decorate, spelling words around the house. The embossing on them is lovely.

 "Excellent Blocks" 2009-06-03
By John Villalpando
We love these blocks. Our daughter started to play with these blocks at the age of four months. She would sit in her peapod and knock them over or just gum them. Later she started to move them from hand to hand. Now she loves to sit and knock them over. They are also motivating her to crawl, because she wants to knock them over so badly. They look brand new, even after the constant chewing, stacking, and knocking down. We have since purchase these blocks for our friends and niece. We highly recommend them.

She has learned to read so much clearer since using the Tag system, because she uses it all the time. Her reading comprehension has improved alot too. I want to buy all of the Tag books for her.

"Fun book to read with or without the Tag " 2009-01-01
By Vanessa (NY USA)
This a great book to have in your library of Tag books. My son has several of the books for the Tag system and this is one of the favorites. He also happens to have this in the board book version, that he's had for several years. So when he got this for the Tag it made the story come to life, and his letter recognition got even better. I would recommend this book, because the story is in rhyme and has a nice beat, if they decide to dance while they are reading. In addition most of the pages have games for them to play that are all educational. Such as the first page, it may ask you to look for the "letter that spoke to B". If you know the story the first page starts off with "A told B and B told C, I'll meet you at the top of the coconut tree". This book is well worth the money, especially as a starter for the Tag system. It helps with letter recognition and learning to read.

"Great book for those who love language and literacy" 2008-12-17
By Aukebay (Juneau, Alaska, USA)
As a first grade teacher with over 30 years of experience, I've used CHICKA CHICKA BOOM BOOM as a fun way to introduce the pure joy of language as well as the letter names. I had the honor of seeing the author, Bill Martin, Jr., do readings of his works and he was the ultimate showman. He used all his performance skills to try and instill the love of language and literature to many generations of learners.

I haven't used the tag system but have purchased it for my three grandsons for Christmas. The boys are seven, four and newborn so I envision the system being used by the oldest two in various ways, independent reading, shared reading and sharing books with their youngest brother. I hope it will stand up to many, many readings.

"Great book with fun "games"" 2008-11-25
By SAHM Gwyn (Lenexa, KS)
My 4-year old loves this book. The character's voices are wonderful and silly. The games are fun to play as well. We only have 3 books (this book, the I Spy book & Ozzie and Mac that came with the system) - my daughter has had this for several months & still enjoys listening to the story & playing with the book. I definitely recommend this book!

LeapFrog® Tag Kid Classic Storybook The Little Engine That Could

Product Description

Read about the Little Blue Engine as it tries to pull a train full of toys up the mountain. "I think I can, I think I can," she chugs, but can the littlest engine of them all climb such a big mountain? Throughout the story, play learning activities that help build reading comprehension and vocabulary skills. Plus, connect the Tag Reader online to the leapfrog Learning Path to see what your child is learning.

Customer Buzz
I will need to buy another copy of this eventually, as my daughter is wearing it out! We have 5 Tag books and this is by far her favorite, but she loves trains so that is not surprising. This classic story is cute, the voices well done, and the games are interesting for her. I think the games are a bit easier on this story, which is good since she is only 3.5 years old. Highly recommend!

Customer Buzz
I've reviewed the Tag and the books. Basically I would place this book towards the top of the heap. Sponge Bob is so far the best followed by this book. I rate the books on quality of inter-activity and content. Not to mention the art work is of a quality that you would expect. The voices seem off but I'd have to see the movie again to verify. Overall a decent book and 2nd on my recommendation list.

LeapFrog® Tag Kid Classic Storybook Walter the Farting Dog Goes on a Cruise

Product Description

Read along and join Walter on a fabulous floating palace, where everyone is having the time of their life until a mysterious and terrible odor begins to permeate the splendid ship. What can this awful odor be? Throughout the story, play learning activities that help build reading comprehension skills and explore emotions. Plus, connect the Tag Reader online to the leapfrog Learning Path to see what your child is learning.

Customer Buzz
I bought this book, and then returned it to the store. It is VERY distasteful. It is one thing to have a farting dog, but another to have that being all the book is about. Every page he is farting for another reason. I think this book is over the line where humor is concerned. This is a very impressionable age where we need to be teaching our kids manners, that farting in public is rude. If it's funny in the book, why wouldn't it be in public? That is the message we are giving our kids. I am a fan of TAG books. But certainly not this one.

Customer Buzz
This item was bought for my grandson who absolutely loved it. The TAG system allows him to read along with aid from the pen. He is learning words and sounds in a fun way. I highly recommend this system for any preschool child.

Customer Buzz
I think this book is completely inappropriate! What a disappointment from the Leap Frog family! We LOVE the TAG system, and all of the other books we have are wonderful. My husband purchased a bundle of them, and this one was included. I wanted to read through it before giving it to my 4 yr old daughter, and I was appauled! There are so many other quality, educational TAG books to choose from. This one crosses the line, and I'd recommend all parents to leave it OUT of your TAG book collection!

Customer Buzz
My grandson has really enjoyed and learned from his Leapfrog Tag, and loves this book.

Customer Buzz
i bought the Tag reading system as one of my 3 year old granddaughters Christmas gifts, and this was one of the books i bought. She loves silly stories and this one certainly is that! She is still a bit young for this system so i am hoping she will use it more, the older she gets.

LeapFrog® Tag Kid Classic Storybook Fancy Nancy at the Museum

Product Description

In this story, kids join Nancy's class on a trip to the art museum. Even after a bumpy bus ride, Nancy finds a way to make the day extra fancy! Throughout the story, readers can play learning activities that help build vocabulary and reading comprehension skills.

Connect the Tag Reader online to the leapfrog Learning Path to see what your child is learning. Book is for use with the Tag Reading System, not included.

Customer Buzz
If your little one likes the Fancy Nancy series, she'll love this book for the Tag. The voices are great and the interactive games that test reading comprehension are excellent. It's also a nice reprieve from reading all the other Fancy Nancy books you're used to reading. It doesn't get "old" as quickly as a regular book due to its interactive nature (much like any of the other Tag books), but it's great because she's so popular with my daughter.

This one is a bit more "mature" in terms of reading comprehension. Usually my daughter can answer the game questions on her own easily enough, but with this book the "fancy" words can be a bit challenging for her (she's in Kindergarten) so I see this book lasting us a little bit longer than some of the other, more juvenile books.

Educational and Fun!

Skwish Classic (Boxed)

Product Description

Intrigue and engage your little one with the colorful, curious skwish Classic. Designed by Manhattan Toy, the skwish appeals to your baby's visual and tactile senses, making this sophisticated toy a source of wonder and learning. Measures 5.5" diameter.

Customer Buzz
Our five month old loves this toy! He grips onto the stretchy black pieces and thrashes it around to make the pieces clink. He also loves to teeth on the little wood pieces (which appear very sturdy). It appears safe. I would buy this toy again.

Customer Buzz
I vaguely seem to remember having one of these as a child. if i remember it, it must have been good, so i got my 2 year old daughter one.
She doesn't seem to have a favorite toy, but spends at least as much time on this as anything else we've got her...
and it's a LOT better on parental nerves!! It makes a pleasant, soft jingling noise like wood sleigh bells- MUCH better than the noisemakers most toys are!!
it's made an obvious improvement in her hand co-ordination too

Customer Buzz
Both my babies absolutely loved the Skwish! I have purchased many over the years for baby gifts and have heard many wonderful reviews.

Customer Buzz
This was my daughter's first toy and she just turned 1 yr old and still loves it. It was easy for her to grab when she was a few months old and she loved sucking on the ends, still does sometimes. She's walking now and carries it around. I also like the fact that if she falls on it, it just squishes and doesn't hurt her. I just bought one for a friend's baby shower too.

Customer Buzz
What I love about this toy is it's colorful, lightweight, interesting and makes a pleasant chimey type of sound when the wooden beads go across the sticks. It's easy for my baby to hold and it keeps him interested. I know that the recommended age on this thing varies and I would just encourage parents to judge whether or not their baby is ready for this toy. I would expect it would be difficult for a toy company to decide when your particular baby is ready for a toy since babies develop at very different rates.

Customer Buzz

We have had this toy since our son was born, and he has enjoyed playing with it since then (he is now 8 months). The age range identified by Amazon on this toy is much too old, as I think that it is extraordinarily interesting for babies around 3-6 months, particularly at the age that they put everything in their mouths. (The toy company which makes it identifies it as appropriate for 0+). My son loves the clink clink of the wooden balls as they shift along the wooden rods, the colors are bright and cheerful (and carefully selected for each ball/rod), and the design (an icosahedron) delights my math-oriented husband. Other advantages include that it is light and squishes almost flat for easy travel, and perhaps most important, that my son is absolutely CRAZY about the toy, and it is a surefire way to entertain him in any situation.

Customer Buzz
although it said from birth, my baby became interested in it after she was 3 months.

Customer Buzz
This was the favorite toy in the house when my daughter (now 21) was a toddler. Now we have purchased it for our niece's first child!

Customer Buzz
this is a GREAT toy, it keeps my almost 8 months old daughter's attention, she loves the fact she can hold it anywhere, and it makes noise. It's also very durable, we have placed it in the tub(not knowing, of course) and it held up perfectly. None of the parts became lose. Which is so important when dealing with wooden toys, no splinters.

A fun and educational toy for sure.

Customer Buzz
I was amazed at how much my 5 month old loved this toy. It instantly became his favorite pick and he still enjoys it 3 months later. I even find myself picking it up and skwishing/stretching it around. However, be careful that nothing heavy is stored on top of it. Ours is a bit lopsided from a heavy book laying on it but seems to be getting back to shape.
