I got this for my daughter when she was about 15 months. Now, she is almost 2 and knows all of her shapes. She loves this puzzle. I would highly recommend this puzzle.

Both my boys have loved this puzzle to pieces. I bought it when my older son was just over a year old and he spent hours learning each shape and color and fitting it into the puzzle. Everntually I packed it away... and brought it out when my younger son started to show an interest in shapes. He loves it, too! I have to search the house for the pieces because he loves to carry them around. This is the best money I have spent on any toy to date.

I ordered this to use with a student that has severe special needs. He is legally blind, and has some fine motor difficulties. I am happy to report that he is able to effectively pick up the pieces and put them into the correct spots with minimal assistance. The colors are nice and bright and the quality exceptional.

This puzzle was fun and educational. My 2 year old granddaughter could handle the shapes with those little fingers. After she realized they would stand alone, it became a train of shapes. The colors were vibrant and another lesson for her. Great fun for us.

Bought this for my daugther when she was 9 months old.ow she is 2 and half years old. Still love these. This is what taught her shapes and colors too. She did great and the toy is still in great condition. Very impressed.

This was my daughter's first Melissa and Doug chunky puzzle and still one of her favorites. It introduced her to these durable, colorful and easy to manipulate puzzles. She played with it before she was one-year-old and still plays with it as a two-year-old. I recommend all of these puzzles to everyone and frequently get them as gifts.


My son loved this and now my daughter does, too. Its neat how the pieces will stand up. Very durable. Great first puzzle.


Like most Melissa and Doug products, this item is very quality and entertaining for young kids.


This is a great puzzle, and it is very well made. My daughter started playing with it when she was about 18 months old. Even though she couldn't always put the pieces in the correct spot, she still loved to play with them. Now that she is 2 yrs old, and able to complete the puzzle with ease, she likes it even more. I am trying to buy a puzzle rack to accommodate this and a few other Melissa and Doug chunky puzzles. I hope they will fit.


I really like this whole Chuncky line of Melissa & Doug puzzles. The age reccomendations says 2 years but I believe that is way too old. I got a few of them for my daughter for her fist birthday and she instantly loved them. The pieces have pictures underneath so that your baby can match the pictures. They are super durable and will stand up to years of play by multiple children. Only down side is that they won't fit in any standard puzzle rack.


My son really loves it and enjoys the animals noises we make to go along with playing. ;-)


Highly recommend these. Our daughter has this one and the zoo/safari animals. The pieces stand up easily which is a huge bonus over regular puzzles. She lines up the animals in a "parade" and then puts them back in their place over and over....

She plays with them so much that the corners are starting to chip. THat's the only negative.

We love them!!


Our baby received this puzzle as a gift for her first birthday. In the last month, she's really enjoyed playing with the animals pieces and even occasionally matches them up.



Be warned though, they don't hold up to water. Our preschooler took a few of the pieces outside last night and they were rained on- the animals exposed to water are ruined (wood cracking and paint peeling).



We'll be replacing it though as it's such a fun little toy.


My (then) 21 month old received this puzzle for Christmas, his very first puzzle. He loves it! The pieces are easy for him to hold, and it is just challenging enough to hold his interest without getting frustrated. He has played with it almost daily and it has held up very well. Very cute puzzle, we highly recommend it!


We have several Melissa and Doug Chunky Puzzles. This one isn't my son's (16 mons) favorite; he plays with the pieces like they were blocks but don't really interact with the puzzle itself. I still look forward to vocabulary building with him with this toy later. But for now, farm theme is not his favorite.
