Fisher-Price Transportation System GeoAir High-Flyin' Airport

Product Description

Kids' imaginations can reach for the skies as they create their very own GeoTrax world. The GeoAir High Flyin' Airport brings an all-new way to expand the GeoTrax world. With so many ways to play, this set includes a main tower with a kid-activated elevator, three bays where the plane can fuel up, fix up and board passengers, a security gate and drop-off platform, and the most "elite" team in all of GeoTown -- Eagle 1 R/C jet plane and his pilot Captain Wright. The pilot figure can sit and ride right inside the plane.

GeoAir R/C planes simply clip onto the flexible GeoAir track and fly around the entire set, doing loops, swoops and daredevil dives. Activate the plane and sound effects using the easy-to-operate kid controls on the new R/C controller. With this set, connect the nine included pieces to form ten feet of GeoAir track; then attach it to the tower and runway to form a "figure nine." You can expand your GeoAir set in two ways: connect the GeoAir track to another GeoAir site, or connect the GeoTrax ground track to the entire GeoTrax rail and road world. Additional GeoAir sets sold separately. Requires six "AAA" batteries, not included. Measures 36"L x 15"W x 33"H.

My son received this toy for his third birthday. There was a piece missing from the track and we couldn't put it together right away. We called Fisher Price and they sent out a whole new piece. He loves it.

Customer Buzz
I bought this for my 2 yr old grandson for Christmas. He loves it and still plays with it. It is nice because it attaches to other Geo systems. I recommend it if you have a playroom to set it up as it takes up quite a bit of space. You can put it away but it takes time. It was definitely a good buy.

Customer Buzz
We got this toy as a gift and when I saw it I didn't think it would be the kind of toy my 2 year old and 3 1/2 year old would play with a lot. But they BOTH love it and play with it quite a bit. They LOVE the airplane sounds, being in control of moving the airplane, the control tower and the moving platform. They take a bunch of their little cars and have them sit in the tower and go up and down on the platform and move in and out of the area on the bottom. They just love it and are always thinking of new ways to play with it! It's also very durable and has withstood being pushed off the table many times, pulled and drug around the house. It is not terribly small, so definitely keep that in mind before purchasing, but I think that's another reason why they continue to play with it.

Customer Buzz
We are Geotrax fanatics here. I buy mostly used off an auction site, but Santa sprung for this new because he thought it looked so great. It is great, but my 4yr old & 3yr old find it dull. You press a green button & the plane zooms in one direction. Red button it stops. Ok...now what? Hmm...press the green button again? How about just walk away from it & leave a 3 foot tall structure completely abandoned in the family room for weeks until mom puts it up on the auction site to get something more fun.
so..
Pros- excellent quality like all Geotrax. Built for hard play.
Cons- if your kids have lots of tracks, trains & other destinations this will get dull fast & you can't store it anywhere. It's just huge.

Customer Buzz
All three of my children love our GeoTrax sets. We have numerous trains, track configurations, and two airports. Allows for creativity when setting up train track layouts, yet easy enough for younger children. Durable but with limitations. The airport track was twisted the wrong way but we were able to correct that so that the plane could follow the track again. Kids love it and play with it often (almost daily).

Customer Buzz
My son loves this flying airplane. We also bought the yellow plane - both can be used on the same track at the same time - neat. Unfortunately he discovered that a lot of neat stuff can be hooked up to this set - a barn and a bridge not to mention train tracks. There was this nice little video included with the high-flyer and now my son WANTS IT ALL. This will end up being a problem because my living room is already cover in Thomas the train engine and besides the high- flyer and the barn and a very small track there just isn't anymore room in my house. Other wise this is a wonderfull toy and quite durable.

Customer Buzz
My 3 grandchildren loved this toy (ages 8, 5 and 3)! They have many sets of geotrax and the fact that this interwove with them, was great. They were able to reconfigure the track themselves. True to Fisher Price, it was great quality and the airplane stayed on the track with no problems. It will be a classic for many years.

Customer Buzz
My grandson loved this when he first got it, but soon the track wouldn't stay connected, and the plane would snag where the track came apart. That bugged him a little, but he just re-connects the track and gives the plane a push. I guess it's a nice lesson in making do, or accepting that toys don't always work the way they're advertised.

As a grandparent, and as for the cost of 40 bucks or so; which I think is a little steep; it should be more durable and there should be more track. He still likes playing with it, though. The plane noises are fun, and the toy is fun when it works.

Customer Buzz
THERE ARE TWO OTHER PLANES WHICH CAN BE PURCHASED FOR THIS... WHEN i FOUND THEM... MY SON WAS IN HEAVEN

CANT GO WRONG WITH TWO TYHPES OF TOYS...

GEOTRAX AND IMAGINEXT

Customer Buzz
My Son saw this at the store and really wanted it. I bought it for him for Christmas. He will play with it for 5 minutes at a time and then he's bored. It's cute but it doesn't do enough. The add on's are like $50! That's way too much for something like this. It needs to do more stuff and not be so much money!

Customer Buzz
My girls were so excited to open this at Christmas time. They were excited to recognize earth. As they put the puzzle together they were kneeling on the pieces trying to get the pieces where they need to go. The puzzle seems to be very strong where kneeling on them won't hurt them. The colors on the puzzle are sharp. I was very impressed. I think this puzzle is a good way to get your kids to know what planets there are and what they look like.

Customer Buzz
Our 3-year old granson loves puzzles. As usual, this Melissa and Doug puzzle if durable and educational.

Excellent puzzle.

Customer Buzz
I love the colorful melissa and doug floor puzzles! They are fun to put together and usually educational too.

Customer Buzz
My daughter absolutely loves this puzzle. The size is captivating and the colors are vibrant and alluring. She is four years old and takes great pleasure independently putting it together and identifying the planets." the pieces are sturdy and fit together very well. She completes the puzzle over and over again and it still maintains its luster and durability. It's a must have!

Customer Buzz
The puzzle is made from heave weight paper. it is very durable. It is a easy puzzle just right for 3-4 year old kids. It is a good training on their observation; and they can learn the solar system as well. I like it.

Customer Buzz
This is a great puzzle from Melissa and Doug. Their floor puzzles are very durable and fairly priced and this is no acception. It's also a great picture to make a puzzle out of because it doesn't have a lot of blank space and not a lot of color repetition. My 3yo daughter learned how to spell all the planets with this one and loves to pick out which are which. Definitely would recommend this one for kids.

Customer Buzz
This puzzle is well made and durable, which is great for my 2 year old who loves puzzles. She will get this out at least once a day and put it together. It has also been fun interacting with her as she has started asking questions about the planets and learning about the solar system as best as a 2 year old can.

Customer Buzz
I ordered the solar system floor puzzle for my 6 year old grandson for his mini 4-H project. He is doing the Sun, Moon & Space mini 4-H project and really doesn't like to do crafts. He has completed the puzzle by himself a couple of times already. He is a pretty good puzzler so this puzzle was pretty simple for him, but the pieces are large and very strong. I also ordered some puzzle glue to make it into a picture. I purchased a poster frame and it should fit perfectly as it is 24" x 36". We will hang this in his room until 4-H fair time and then it will be on display.

I would highly recommend this puzzle. It very educational since it pictures the solar system. It's pieces are strong and well made. When I ordered the puzzle came in just a few days too!

Customer Buzz
This was a great buy! My daughter loved it, and picked it up real quick. The colors and writing are big enough for her to identify the planets and remember them.

Customer Buzz
This puzzle is a favorite with my grandson (5 years old) He got it as a gift at 4 years old and can put it together himself. The colors are great, he liked it so much I purchased the dinosaur and underwater floor puzzles for him for Christmas. They are a toy that keeps being used! Highly recommend!

LeapFrog® Tag Reading System

Product Description

Introducing Tag Reading System, the revolutionary touch reading system that brings reading to life like never before. Tag engages children to make reading a rich, fulfilling experience. Children simply touch the Tag Reader (which looks like an electronic pen) to the book's pages, and words talk, characters sing and stories fly off the pages.

With a huge library of hardcover books and games including favorite TV, movie and classic tales, each Tag Book allows children to learn at their own pace, building their skills and their confidence. Plus, by connecting the Tag Reader to the online LeapFrog Learning Path, parents can see what their child is learning -- and even receive recommendations on what books their child could read next! Includes Tag Reader, plus the "Ozzie and Mack" Book; additional Tag Books sold separately. Tag Reader requires two "AAA" batteries, not included.

Customer Buzz
I bought this for my nephew for Christmas. He absolutely loves to play with it, which I think is great. The downside is the limitation of the number of books that you can store on the stick for reading. He went to use his tag reader with some of the flash cards, but he was not able to use it since we had to remove that in order to add a new book.

Customer Buzz
This is a smart toy for early readers. It works well and reads the pages perfectly. I do find that my younger daughter (2.5) plays with it more than her sister (almost 4), for whom it was purchased. I don't know if it's just because it talks, it's her sister's toy, or if it's just that the older one really isn't in to it? My only two complaints are battery life...geez, this thing goes through batteries like crazy. The girls don't use it all THAT much but it's constantly telling us to replace the batteries. I wish it was rechargeable or had longer battery life. The other complaint is that I wish it held more books in memory. It seems like we have upload, reload, change, etc. what's on the reader too much.
I do like the activities at the ends of the books, where they work on sounding out words. I'd recommend this toy but would tell everyone to stock up on batteries at your local warehouse retail store!

Customer Buzz
At first glance, I didn't care for Tag. I thought it just reads the words off the book like our old books with cassette did when we were kids. If it reads each word, it probably does it in a boring, monotonous tone.

Then, my niece and nephew get Tag for their birthday, and she shares one with a child in the waiting room at the doctor's office -- plenty of exposure to get her excited about Tag. I thought, what the heck, let's try it.

It is worlds apart from what I expected. Yes, it reads the book, but not in the boring, monotonous tone I expected. It reads in bright, vibrant voices, supplemented with music and sound effects. The child can have the Tag pen read the entire story at once, or it can read the book page by page, or it can read it word by word (in those same, lively voices).

Not only that, my daughter can play word games or answer questions about the story by touching the pen to the star on the page. Some games have varying difficulty levels denoted by the number of stars on the icon.

This is so much better than my daughter's My First Leappad, which required her to hook the book onto the bulky plastic board and insert a cartridge. This requires only the pen and the books, which take up much less room and make it a great travel toy.

It takes a few minutes to install the software, but it is worth it. After that, just connect the Tag to the computer to download the audio for the books you buy. It can only hold 5 books at a time, which is its downfall. Wish it could hold more or maybe even have a memory card slot.

As the children read and play games, they can earn rewards on the computer. I am able to check my daughter's progress online and see how much she is playing, which books she spends the most time on and what questions she is answering correctly.

This is a great investment in my child's learning. She is 5 years old and a beginning reader. I don't know how long this toy will last. Once she is a strong reader, I suspect this toy will quickly become boring, so it probably won't have the lifespan that Leapster had. I am estimating about a year, but I will come back to update either way.

In order to make this toy exciting and worthwhile, I need to buy lots of books. Considering the selection, the quality can be very good. If you are not up to buying a Tag library, this toy may not be the right toy for your kids.

Customer Buzz
My son loves this (he is almost 4) and can grasp it pretty well with a little help. It is fun for him and keeps his attention so you have to say that for it. That being said, its just unacceptable how little storage this device has. It can store 5 books. With as cheap as storage is now a days there is just no excuse as to why this thing does not have storage for at least 15-20 books. As you go along 5 books is just not enough. Got a long trip or a vacation? Better bring the laptop to swap books around because you can only use 5 at a time. The synch process is also slow. The functionality of this is actually pretty amazing and the books are very good so I cannot give this a bad review, but the storage space issue is absurd.

Customer Buzz
My son got this for his 4th birthday and he absolutly loves it. It is very educational and he loves the quizing part where the pen asks him questions and he points to the answers!
even my 2 yr old daughter loves pointing to the alphabet and singing it out loud with the super speller (bought seperately)
worth every penny.

Customer Buzz
My daughter just received this for her 4th birthday and she loves it. I found it installs easily and she can easily use it on her own. They have several different books that she loves. My daughter enjoys books and this is a great product to promote reading and she can learn to read along with it. I would recommend this product.

Customer Buzz
My son uses the pen on big words he doesn't know yet. It gives him a sense that he can do it himself. He's in first grade and I recommend this product.

Customer Buzz
My 4 year old daughter recently got the 'LeapFrog Tag Reading System' and I feel that it is one of the best educational things I have ever seen. The concept is simple enough, there are special books designed to work with the Leapfrog Tag pen and using this device your child can learn to identify words and be able to read on their own. The technology is based off of an infrared camera built into the pen that looks for little micro dots built into the books themselves. There is a speaker built into the pen that will let the little ones read pages, individual words, play games or just click the pictures of the characters they see.

While the pen should never replace reading books to your children, this amazing device is a great companion tool for your child to expand their skills and learn to read better and faster than ever before. My daughter loves her Leapfrog Tag and while some people may call this a gimmick or a lazy solution for the parents I don't believe this is that at all. Kids need time to work on reading for themselves and that is exactly what this device does for them.

Wonderful tool and a five star grade to say the least!!!

***** HIGHEST POSSIBLE RECOMMENDATION

Customer Buzz
My oldest (5 1/2) got the Tag reading system for Christmas. I was a little skeptical at first thinking this would be another flash in the pan gadget for our child that she would quickly get bored with. Granted, she doesn't play/use it EVERY single day, but she has used it enough for us to buy two more books to go along with it.

She truly loves using it. Even though she can't read yet she seems to be "getting it" more now that she's been using the Tag for the past month and occasionally reading out a word that she's figured out on her own. The best thing about it is that after your child is bored with the "reading" part they discover the interactive games built into the books. It opens a whole new world. The games test reading (listening) comprehension by asking to "tag" things in the pictures that relate to the story.

I have not yet uploaded the tag pen to my computer to watch the progress...I feel it's too soon to really see much progress. Besides, I can tell just by spending time reading with my daughter how far she's progressed. If you don't have that kind of time with your child, I would imagine the online progress tracker would be a good tool to have.

Even my 2 year old loves the tag! We even bought her a book. She doesn't grasp the concept quite yet, but she does understand she can touch the pen to different words and pictures and hear the word read out loud. It entertains her for nearly as long as it does out older child. Had I known about the Tag system, I would have gotten it for our oldest much earlier.

Customer Buzz
I have a long history with leapfrog. My mother used it with me, and she credits it with being the reason why I read and comprehend so well. Whether that is true or not, we decided to pass this tradition on to my younger brother, and it has dramatically increased his reading abilities in a short time. I must say, this is a bit pricey, BUT, it is worth it.
