 "Unreliable - died after 3 months" 2009-07-22
By ShadesOfGray (Detroit, MI USA)
I bought this and a V-Smile PC Pal brand new from Toys R Us for my kids for Christmas this past year, and by May both were dead. The PC Pal lasted barely five months, and the Cyber Pocket lasted only three. Within the same week, both units just died - they fail to power on either with batteries or AC Adapter. And now we have seven coasters that used to be game cartridges (fortunately most of them were bought used so the amount of wasted money isn't as bad as it could have been).

Needless to say, the reliability of VTech products is pathetic, to say the least. While they were functional my kids had fun with them, but I'd never throw good money after bad by buying another one.

My daughter got this for her 3rd Birthday and loves it. The game that came with the system is a little too hard for her right now but she got a Elmo game for her Birthday as well that she's really good at. She has dropped it a few times and it's survived thus far, but it's only been a week and half...We'll see! She thinks it's like the games she plays on mommy's laptop so that's cool to her. Overall, I'd buy it again. I received it really fast and in great shape, NIB as advertised!

"My Kids loves it, " 2009-01-17
By K. Wilhite (Conway ARK)
If you dont have access to the internet this toy is useless. It is just a expensive Teddy bear. Luckily we do. Now the problem is she wants to be on my laptop all the time to care for and earn things for her WEBKINZ. Adorable online community for kids. Seems to be pretty Safe, she just creates a world for her pink poodle to live in. I got one for my 8 year old and my 3 year old and they love them, but I hate the time they need to spend on my computer. They don't play with the Actual stuffed toy itself, but they want to log on and play. That was something they do anyway with some of the kids online games and community. So basicly you pay for a password to enter online and name and create a online pet to care for. Unless I missed something. I allow her to get online once a week and do the Webkinz thing. She enjoys it. I think it helps to teach responsibility. I think the stuffed animals are adorable so that alone makes them worth it. But the kids are not that impressed, not mine anyway. My 3 year old love the Pink Froggy, yet my 8 year old would rather do the internet thing. So U decide. Good luck.

This web kinz is cute. But because webkinz is really selling you a code to enter their site. The animals do not get played with as much as the site when you can get on the site or when it does not kick you off.

The webkinz server goes down quite a bit.

Mini Kick Scooter - PINK, for kids age 2-5, the quality 3-wheel scooter

Buy Cheap Mini Kick Scooter - PINK, for kids age 2-5, the quality 3-wheel scooter

Buy Low Price From Here Now

The Mini is the quality scooter for young children. Its unique 'lean-and-steer' design allows children to use their body weight to control the steering, giving kids the feeling of 'surfing' the sidewalk, as they curve from right to left, almost like a skateboard, adding an element of fun and control that young children love.

The Mini scooter is designed with 3 wheels for greater stability and control. The polyurethane wheels create a wonderfully smooth glide -- and a quiet ride (a joy for parents and children alike!).

The kickboard is low-to-the-ground and large enough for two feet, making it easy for young children to hop on and off and to switch from pushing -- to just enjoying the ride.

The 'spoon' brake at the back adds additional control, and kids like it because its just like the 'big kid' scooters.

For parents, the Mini scooter is light weight (only 3.3lbs), so it's easy to pick up and carry when need be.

The Mini scooter makes scooting fun for young children at the same time as helping to develop their balance, co-ordination and motor skills.

The Mini scooter is designed with a weight recommendation of 60lbs. Please note that the scooter displays a weight limit of 20kg (44 lbs). The reason for the discrepancy is that European standards dictate that weights are approved and displayed only in increments of 10 kg (22lbs), so the next available weight category of 30 kg, or 66 lbs, would have put the displayed recommended weight limit OVER its actual recommendation of 60 lbs.

And, the best just got even better - the original Mini scooter has been improved! The design team at Micro-Mobility in Switzerland, are always working to achieve ever-higher standards of excellence. They have recently added a reinforced brake, stronger U-bar, and a new locking pin for easy handlebar removal.

"Best & Safest Scooter on the Market" 2009-09-03
By 2remem (Los Angeles, Ca)
#1 scooter you can buy! I bought my son 12 yrs ago (he's now 13) the identical scooter from Huffy(same dimensions, screw placement etc.). He rode it until he just was too heavy for it. That one is still with us and now my daughter has been riding it for 2 years. We decided that since she can't even go to the bathroom without the scooter it was time for a new one, the plastic base was gone and only the metal narrow part was left. I refused to get a regular scooter and glad I didn't.

This style of scooter is the safest scooter for any child to ride. No worries about the front wheel turning unexpected and you child flying thru the air or falling as easily. I can actually exhale when she's riding. No more holding my breath or being afraid. Balance is definately enhanced here too. All turning is done with body/weight placement. It's super stable. Absolutely great. Both my kids started on this scooter before 2 yrs old and at 5 yrs old, my daughter goes everywhere with it & yes she rides it all thru the house too. My only worry is that I hope the plastic base can be replaced if needed as this one is sure to be around for a long, long time. Worth every penny!!

"Absolutely the best beginner scooter" 2009-07-08
By Z. Pham (Corona, CA United States)
We've had this scooter for a few years now. I bought it because I wanted a three wheeled scooter that taught my son to balance but yet was more stable than a two-wheeled scooter.

Most three-wheeled scooters have the third wheel on the back. That always looked a bit awkward to me. Like when they go to kick, the back leg must avoid that wheel. I guess it's not really that bad as I watch other kids, but I wanted my kids to kick like they would on a two-wheeler.

This scooter has the third wheel on the front and it steers like a skateboard. That's a terrific way to teach balance. My son (4 years old at the time) was a little tentative at first, but he was able to use this scooter with a little effort and concentration. It helped him a great deal with his confidence and he was eventually able to transfer to a two-wheeler.

My daughter was 2 years old when she started riding this scooter. She picked it up quickly after watching her older brother. By the time she was 3 years old, she could zip around on it quickly.

There is a brake on the rear wheel, just like the two-wheelers. Other three-wheeled scooters don't have that feature. It allowed my kids to practice using the brake for when they transferred to the two-wheeled scooters.

The Mini Micro is solidly built. We've had ours for about 3 years and it's still going strong. There are no loose parts, nothing falling off or bent. The brakes haven't worn down yet. It still looks just like the day we got it.

The only downsides to this scooter is that it doesn't fold up and the handlebars don't adjust. It's geared to a very small age group (3 to 5) and doesn't hold a lot of weight.

However, the Mini Micro is a terrific beginner scooter, far superior to other three wheeled scooters. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat. It's well worth the extra cost.

This scooter is fantastic. My four year old loves it and flies around the park and neighborhood on it. It is stable, intuitive and smooth. I like the fact that you don't have to lean it against anything when you aren't using it. This is by far her favorite outdoor toy and now she doesn't have much interest in her bike (unfortunately).

"Great scooter for kids to grow on" 2009-05-12
By M. Vooss (New York, NY)
We bought this for our daughter on her 3rd birthday and she's loved it for the past year. She has learned to balance well, and from humble beginnings coordinating her pushing foot she now zips around faster than we can follow. The front axle flexibility for tilt steering works really well, and I believe it's easier and more intuitive than than having to coordinate the hand, body and foot motion for kids. The product is well made and can be easily dismantled for portability. It has a higher weight limit than some other products, the two front wheels provide great stability, and the brake works well. Last year she was the only one in the playground with one of these, this year there are so many we've had to decorate hers (even with some of the included stickers) to be able to keep the kids from grabbing the wrong one. Overall, a solid choice. Of course, make sure your kids wear a helmet!

 "Dangerous!!!" 2009-03-29
By Louise (Sacramento, CA United States)
Do not buy this scooter! I bought this scooter for my three year old and we have had to put it away. The weight is in the front and the wheels stick out and are easily caught. When the wheel hits anything (lawn, rock, etc) it stops and the child flies right over the top as the handle bars do not turn like regular scooters. The scooter tips right forward sending your child face down on the ground. One time my daughter's wheel hit the lawn so she fortunately faceplanted on the grass, the second time it was on cement when her wheel hit a rock. She fortunately had her helmet on and only received a dent in her forehead from her helmet, that shows how quickly it pitched her over onto the ground. We had to take the scooter away after that and went and bought her a barbie razor type scooter that is able to turn and adjust. This is a very dangerous design. The handlebars don't even adjust anyway so you would be wasting your money even if it wasn't so dangerous. I have contacted the company but have not received any reply.

"Skateboard, Ripstik, Bladeboard, Xglider, WhipTide, PumpRockr, and Wave Board review" 2009-08-07
By David Root (Houston, TX USA)
My family has been building up a collection of skateboards and casterboards (Ripstik, Bladeboard, Xglider, WhipTide, and Wave Board), and this review will compare them based on the impressions of a 48yo dad, my 15yo son, and my 9yo daughter.

Skateboard - As a teenager I built my own skateboards with the best trucks, wheels, etc., that I could afford, and I built my own ramps and did some of the tricks that you see at skateparks, so I've got a lot of experience with skateboards. One thing about skateboards is that if you're not careful, they can shoot out from under you when you put a foot on them, which can cause injuries. There are a lot of fun tricks that can be done with skateboards, but for just skateboarding on a level street they can be quite dull compared to casterboards.

Ripstik - It feels awkward getting on a Ripstik for the first time, but we quickly got the hang of it. In my opinion it's safer than a skateboard in the sense that it doesn't shoot out from under you very easily (it simply flops onto its side since it only has two wheels). On the level street in front of our house, the Ripstik is WAY more fun than a skateboard, and my kids and I frequently trade casterboards because we all want to have a turn on the Ripstik. The only downside is that the Ripstik wheels wear down quickly (see "A note about the wheels" below).

Bladeboard - Since we loved the Ripstik so much, we wanted to try another casterboard. The Bladeboard videos made it look better than a Ripstik because you can swap ends as you ride, but we had a hard time finding a place to buy one. I bought one off of eBay, and it has been a real disappointment. We took apart the casters and cleaned them and lubricated them, and put new bearings in the wheels, but it still feels sluggish and awkward to ride (plus the casters are noisy). The decks were surprisingly slippery, so we covered the decks with griptape. That helped a lot, but not enough to make the Bladeboard fun.

Xglider - Next we bought an Xglider (AKA Xlider) for my son's birthday, which glides more smoothly than our Ripstik. The Xglider is actually two separate decks which are not connected, so it's tricky getting the hang of it. For that reason, it's more dangerous than the other casterboards because it is very easy to lose your balance. However, the challenge of mastering it keeps bringing me back to it. The two decks move independently of each other, which allows for different tricks and tighter spins than the Ripstik allows. But this greater freedom of movement also means that I am constantly aware of maintaining my balance so that I don't do the splits or do a face-plant onto the asphalt. I'm not able to "let go" and enjoy the ride like I can with the Ripstik and WhipTide and Wave, but it's a fun challenge which keeps calling me back. A disadvantage of the Xglider is that you can't just set it down on the street and then step on and go, like you can with the other casterboards. Instead, you have to set the two decks onto the ground so that they are facing the right way and lined up the way you want them, then you have to carefully step onto the decks one at a time, then you can go.

WhipTide - Since all three of us want a turn on the Ripstik, my kids pooled their money and bought a WhipTide, and we all fell in love with it immediately. It combines the fun of a Ripstik with some of the features of an Xglider. It glides smoothly like an Xglider (more so than our Ripstik), and the wheels seem to last longer than the Ripstik wheels (see "A note about the wheels" below). The crossbar can bend up-down and side-to-side (unlike the Ripstik and Wave crossbars which are rigid and unbending), which has some advantages and disadvantages. One advantage is that it lets you do tighter turns and slaloms and spins than a Ripstik can do (more like an Xglider), and another advantage is that different tricks are possible due to the bendiness of the crossbar (see some of the WhipTide videos out there). One disadvantage of the bendy crossbar is that you can't do any tricks which require lifting one wheel off of the ground, such as going up onto a curb. Another disadvantage of the bendy crossbar is that as your speed increases there's a "wiggle" or "snake-like" motion that you can feel in your feet, which I find a bit disconcerting because it feels like I'm not in full control. In other words, I can be much more aggressive on the Ripstik because I know where the wheels are going to go as I push it into a hard carve or spin, but the "wiggle" in the WhipTide makes me less comfortable "pushing it to the limit." Another disadvantage of the bendy crossbar is that it's easier to lose your balance and fall than on a Ripstik or Wave because you can bend the WhipTide into a tight spin which throws you off balance. I guess this is more of a "caution" than a "disadvantage," because tight spins are part of the fun of the WhipTide.

PumpRockr - Next we had a chance to try out a PumpRockr, which is a skateboard where the front two wheels are replaced with a single caster wheel. It has the advantage of a casterboard in the sense that you can propel it without putting a foot on the ground (or you can propel it in the traditional skateboard way), but we found that it takes a lot more effort than a casterboard. It feels sluggish, and it can't make tight turns like a casterboard can. It has the advantages of a skateboard in the sense that you can do most skateboard tricks with it (based on the online videos), but it has all of the disadvantages of a skateboard as well (described above). The front caster wheel makes it less stable than a four-wheeled skateboard, meaning that the front of the PumpRockr easily tips over when you apply pressure to one side or the other at the front wheel (I would guess that this is not a problem for experienced riders). It's an interesting idea, but it turns out to be just as sluggish as a traditional skateboard when ridden on a level street.

Wave - Since the Ripstik and the WhipTide are our "fun" casterboards, and since there are three of us who want to use them, my kids split the cost of a Wave. The Wave looks almost identical to our Ripstik, but the decks are slightly wider and the crossbar is shorter. The ride feels essentially the same as our Ripstik, although the Wave has a bit of a "clatter" noise which gives the impression that it's not as well-made as the Ripstik. But as far as I can tell, everything about the Wave is as sturdy as the Ripstik. Overall, I would have to say that if the Ripstik is a 10, for example, then the Wave is a 9.5. They're almost identical in look and feel, but there's a certain "something" which gives the Ripstik a bit of an edge over the Wave, in our opinion. This is based on a brand-new Wave compared against a year-old Ripstik with worn wheels and dirty casters.

The bottom line: The Ripstik and the Wave are virtually identical. The Ripstik and the Wave and the WhipTide are our "fun" boards that we use almost exclusively, and we frequently switch boards so that we all have a chance to ride each board. The Xglider is fun as well, but the fun is in the challenge of trying to master it. The Bladeboard was a big disappointment, because it looked fun in the videos but it turned out to be awkward and difficult to ride. The PumpRockr is just as sluggish as a skateboard when ridden on a level street. My kids and I play a game that we call "Caster Soccer," in which we try to knock a beachball down the street and up onto our driveway, circling around and around each other and darting in and out like an aerial dogfight. It's loads of fun, and you can't do that with a PumpRockr or any other type of skateboard!

A note about the wheels:

Since our Xglider wheels hardly have any wear, I took the two wheels off of one Xglider deck and put them onto our Ripstik, and put the worn Ripstik wheels onto the Xglider. The Xglider worked fine with the worn-down Ripstik wheels, and the ride wasn't impaired at all. The Ripstik seemed to feel a little better, but maybe it was just my imagination. If I didn't know that the wheels had been swapped then I might not have noticed any difference in the Ripstik or the Xglider. After about 20 minutes on the Ripstik using the Xglider wheels, the rear wheel was worn flat! So it's something about the way that the Ripstik and the Wave are ridden which wears down the wheels. We use the WhipTide just as much as the Ripstik, although not as aggressively due to the "wiggle" motion, and the WhipTide wheels are not showing much wear at all.

Update 8/29/2009:

I took apart the casters on our Ripstik with a crescent wrench, and cleaned and lubricated them. Then I discovered that you can't easily take apart the casters on a Wave Board. This is a significant advantage of the Ripstik over the Wave.

Also, here are some videos of my kids and me playing Caster Soccer. We noticed that the rear wheel on our Ripstik (the red casterboard in the videos) is worn flat almost down to the rim, and you can hear the "scraping" noise that it makes on the videos. It was a bit stiffer than usual until I replaced the wheel, but still fun!

Product Description

Build a house, a pony, or anything else you can imagine with this special box filled with lego bricks in colors you love and elements like fences, windows, doors and flowers! 216 pieces.

Customer Buzz
My daughter loves building with her Dad and this set is the perfect starter! She is 6 and followed all the directions on her own, with minimal help at all and loves this set! She has created things of her own as well, lots of fun!

Customer Buzz
Great toy, but not enough of all the colors, out of 216 pieces they are about a handful of black blocks. Great toys in general.

Customer Buzz
It's much smaller than I expected, and it sure doesn't seem like it's over 200 pieces, doesn't seem to be enough to build much of anything. I'm glad I didn't pay more than 14.99 for it - those other sellers that sell it for much higher are really ripping people off!

Customer Buzz
I ordered these for my niece (age 3) and now I realize the pieces are probably way too small for someone her age. However, she raved about them and plays with them under supervision. When I bought them, my daughter, age 9, expressed interest as well, so I ordered some for her for Christmas. She loves playing with them and I think they are adorable. I was thinking of ordering another set for my 4- and 7-year-old nieces.

Customer Buzz
It's great to find legos that don't have a specific theme, character, or way they have to be put together.
The new colors here are great for my 3 1/2 year old girl. She plays with her brothers legos all the times, but these are uniquely hers.
I also got here a 12x12 plate to assemble things on. This is a fairly small set of legos (as legos go), but can be added to the standard color ones.

Customer Buzz
The storage box is sturdy and love the special pieces (windows, face blocks, flowers ) is this set.

Customer Buzz
My daughter is five and loves legos. Great product..I only wish that legos marketed more of its product lines for girls.

Customer Buzz
The Lego Pink Brick Box is a delightful starter set for little ones who are graduating from the Duplo set. My 3.5 year old absolutely loves these as the bricks not only come in pink, her favorite color but also in other vibrant colors such as bold red, orange, yellow, green, navy blue etc.

The set comes with a set of instructions on how to build a fun little cotttage [with different versions of it, from simple to slightly more complicated], little people, a wagon, animals such as a horse, duck, dog, a little boat etc. There are 15 ideas in the booklet but one can come up with many more using one's imagination.

The bricks here are smaller than the Duplo and some are really tiny, so supervision should be exercised when allowing little ones to play with this set - and it's not just choking that's an issue here, but also 'disappearing' bricks. Some are so tiny that they can easily disappear into plush carpet and fall into nooks and crannies.

But those concerns aside, these bricks make for many hours of imaginative play and are great toys that can be enjoyed by children and parents together. I would suggest buying two of the set to begin with as that allows for more stuff to be built at one time. Final verdict: a fun, educational and value buy!

Customer Buzz
I got this for our 2 youngest daughters (ages 3 and almost 5). They love it and have so much fun with the lego building and imaginitive play. I do wish it came with a figure (girl). And I am sad to just find pink lego's and see belville is discontinued. I hope lego's for girls will continue. I am using this as a time for everybody to listen to music or memory work for home-schooling and have boys with other lego sets and tables.
I will add that our 3 year old is a bit young for this and is not one to put small things in her mouth. But she will get better with practice.

Customer Buzz
My son loves legos, and so that my daughter can enjoy them as well, I decided to buy her this set. It's a great starter set. Not a whole lot of pieces and they are really nicely colored. Very durable as all legos are. This is a great set for girls. What I like about this set is that you can make several different things with it.
