 "Challenging AND fun" 2009-07-24

"another good learning game from leapster" 2009-04-11
By G. Schoenmakers
Before I gave the game to my son who is in first grade, I checked it out myself. In an entertaining way he gets to do the math he is learning at school. So yes, thru playing this game, his math skills are reinforced. For the occasional time he is not running around, and indeed wants to play with his leapster, this game gets my full approval.

 "Very fun and educational" 2009-01-30
By pterion (Brooklyn, NY USA)
I got this OUTWIT game to go with my daughter's Leapster this Christmas. She is consistently amused by it and finds it easy to navigate. I think this is a good educational game for pre-school and kindergarten age kids. The timed challenges are simple ones such as identifying the 'misfit' in a group of similar objects, recognizing patterns in a a series of objects, and memory match challenges. It might not hold the attention of an older child who has already mastered these skills, but would be great for young children.

 "Great game for overachiever" 2009-08-04
By Heather Hoetker (Boise, ID)
My six year old is a math wiz. This is the first game we have gotten for his Leapster that has challenged him at all. I had read some of the reviews that said it is challenging and decided to give it a try. I am very happy with this game. He is able to maneuver around the different games pretty easily, but the level of the games is pretty difficult. It took him a little while to figure out how to get the game cards, but now is able to get them once he masters the skills. I really feel like he is having to think and retain the information in order to keep going in the game.

"Too difficult for younger kids, not interesting for older kids" 2009-02-19
By Z. Pham (California)
Okay, we own a lot of Leapster cartridges. My kids may have tried this out, but they haven't played it much at all.

There are 5 characters, each one associated with a different game. Each game has two levels. In addition to the basic games I describe, there are bonus rounds:

Mr. Incredible: Solve the addition and multiplication problems. The answers are on the heads of a statue. Choose the statue with the correct answer and push or pull it into position. Level 1: The addition problems feature serial addition of three single digit numbers. Level 2: The multiplication problems feature single digit multiplication of two single digit numbers.

Mrs. Incredible: Doors open and close revealing letters to a word. Grab the letters to spell a word before the door closes. They must be grabbed in the correct order. Level 1: The words are about five or six letters long. Level 2: The words are about the same length as Level 1, but they are more difficult to spell because they do not follow the basic phonics rules.

Dash: Pick up blocks to build the correct number. For example, if the number is 605, pick up blocks 600 and 5, put the 600 in the hundreds place and the 5 in the ones place. Level 1: The numbers are three digits long. Level 2: The numbers are four digits long.

Violet: Violet has to find the part of speech in the maze that completes the sentence. Level 1: This level focuses on finding the nouns. An example is "Find the noun that completes the sentence." The sentence is "The ___ throws a robot," and the choices are "ran," "happy," "enemy." Level 2: Find adjectives to complete the sentence.

Syndrome: Help navigate the Incredibles family work together to get through the jungle. Must use some logic, like use Mr. Incredible's strength to move rocks or Mrs. Incredible's stretch to reach across a chasm.

Summary: The games are not bad and they are very educational. The problem I think is The Incredibles appeals to a younger audience, maybe preschool level, and the skills it requires are first through third grade level. They were too difficult for my kids when I bought the cartridge, still too difficult for my now 5 year old; but The Incredibles is considered too babyish by my 7 year old who could now play the games.

 "Very difficult to play" 2008-11-07
By book crazy (California, USA)
Out of all the games my son has (around 10), this is the worst of them. It is confusing and very difficult to use. The activities seem interesting but when you try to do something, the controls just dont work well. I tried the activities so I could explain my son how to play (first time I have to do that with a leapster game) and couldnt finish them !!. Do not recommend this game.

One of my kids favorites! I'm buying a replacement copy. I agree these things are durable, I sent one through the wash last month and in the morning it was fine. I agree this one is a bit of a challenge (i.e. frustrating) in parts, BUT the upside of this is that although we lost it a year ago (after having it for over a year) I have no qualms about buying it again (I've been looking at the stores to no avail), for my now almost 8 year old son knowing he'll still have fun with it and my almost 4 year old daughter knowing she'll love it again just because it's the Incredibles! Highly recommended!

"GOOD CHOICE FOR 6 Year olds!!!" 2009-02-02
By Amanda M. Clemmons (Ohio)
My six year old twins (boy and girl) each got their own Leapster this year for Christmas and of course you then have to purchase the cartridges. They like Spongebob and generally he gets on my nerves after a while because there isn't much educational content to the shows. Well, the Leapster game is actually an exception. The kids LOVE it and it teaches them as well. Overall, a good thing for all involved!

You can never have enough Spongebob! That's how my kids see it. I have yet to meet a leapster game I didn't like. It's Spongebob, and leapster the perfect combination for kids. Don't get me wrong, I hate Spongebob as much as any parent, but the game's not for me now is it?

I just purchased this game for my four-year old daughter. I am an elementary school teacher, and I think the game is fairly challenging. The screens are pretty monotanous and overall, my daughter finds the game boring. The other Sponge Bob game for Leapster is better.

"I disagree with the age rating - should be 3 and up...." 2009-01-21
By Mama Kimmberli (Boonies - Southwest, Chicago)
This is the coolest memory game to date! We got this for Christmas from my awesome, avant garde, hip sister-in-law. And we have played and enjoyed it every day since!

My 2-year-old, who will be 3 in February, can easily master this game and whoop Mom or Dad's hiney. What I love are the illustrations. They are beautiful, and they also teach a whole new set of animals (i.e. lemurs, iguanas, fish swimming in coral, etc.)

I highly recommend. Cards are very sturdy with visually appealing and distracting (which is good in a game like this) stripes on the opposing side. I absolutely recommend. But a 2 1/2 year old - 3 year old can easily master...

 "A beautiful memory game" 2009-01-06
By Gwen P. (Douglassville, PA, USA)
My six year old daughter got this game for Christmas and LOVES it - and so do I! Sure, you can find memory games for a lot cheaper, but none as beautiful as this one. The pictures on each are cheeful, colorful and quite wonderful! What I also like about the pictures on this game vs. some others that can be bought at any toy store is that each picture is distictive. We've had games in the past in which some of the pictures were so simular to each other that you had to really check out the picture to see if it really matched the other. It was frustrating to the kids and to the parents. I would higly recommend this game to any preschool-age child on up. It was challenging even for us adults as well and a lot of fun! Not only does it sharpen the brains of the child, but for the adults as well.

 "Enjoyable and beautiful!" 2008-08-21
By Diana (United States)
As usual, Eeboo does a wonderful job with this game. The pictures are fantastic - a work of art. The pieces are thick and durable. It's appealing and inviting. We also have the Hasbro "Original Memory Game," which has SEVENTY tiny cards with treacly, goofy cartoons on them, and I find it incredibly annoying. The Life on Earth memory game is light years better - creative, artistic, thicker pieces, just much nicer overall. Worth a few dollars more.

This version of Memory is just awesome. It's great for a 3-year-old to just match up different animals, flowers, etc. And then great for continued development with playing Memory. There are a lot of unique pictures as well, which makes it fun for kids and adults.

 "Love it!" 2009-07-21
By ChriSpenceRachel
This has been a great introduction to turn taking games. It is very simple and takes only a few minutes to complete a game, but that fits my 3 year old and 2 year old perfectly. The design in fantastic, it keeps all the pieces together perfectly. My daughter could play this when she was as little as 18 months old and mostly understood what was going on. And if you are creative you can extend the educational value beyond shapes and colors to addition/subtraction, greater than/less than, etc. as your children gain new skills. Overall, a great purchase!

 "Good for small children" 2009-04-09
By angel1533 (Bellefontaine, OH)
I have 2 preschoolers, and they get a kick out of this game....There isn't a whole lot of educational value in it; only in that it teaches kids the concept of taking turns. But it's fun for family time, and it's one that the kids can play themselves without an adult having to play (which can be kind of nice sometimes).

By Barbara J. Votrobeck (Iowa)
Got it for my grandson's second birthday. Although it says it's for 3+, a two-year old can play it easily. I had to help him match the first couple of shapes and colors, then he was going to town on it himself. What he has to learn now is how to take turns with others in order to make it a game.

"perfect for a very active and impatient 2 yr. old boy" 2009-03-11
By Tina C. (St. Louis, MO USA)
This game is durable and easy to understand for little ones. I have a four year old girl, and a two year old boy, I also watch a 3 year old girl and a 1 year old. This game interests all of them especially my 2 yr old boy. Most games are either two complicated are two easy to break for him. He loves this game and asks to play it every day.

I keep all the pieces and the game boards in a gallon size freezer bag and put in under the castle which I keep with all the other games.

I got it on sale right before christmas for around $6.00. But I would gladly pay much more for it now that I know what a great game it is. It is really helping him with some of his colors and shapes and just playing encourages him to use his words. He doesnt talk alot and this game helps him want to communicate more! Would be too easy for over three or even for some smart 3 year olds if they didnt have someone younger to play with.

"Perfect for 2 year old" 2009-03-08
By TkkWI (USA)
We recently bought this game for our 25-month-old son. This is the perfect first game for a young toddler as the concepts are simple enough for a 2-year-old to grasp, and it moves quickly while teaching them about taking turns, etc. I would not recommend this game for children aged 3 or older. It's too simple and they will tire of it easily. If you're looking for a great first game, I would highly recommend it.

Cranium Wow was a lot of fun. I can't believe that it was that cool. Great product, great seller, even better review. Awesome.

Customer Buzz
We had a group of people and had the best time playing this game! Even people who hate board games love this game.

Customer Buzz
We love this game!!
As a family of 5, it gets a little old playing life or monopoly! This set is visually appealing to us and our older two children (ages 9 & 11). The 2 year old tries to play as well. It has been a little challenging for the young ones, however, we don't have to skip too many cards to get to one they understand, and it really brings out their talents and skills, in a really fun environment! This game has brought out lots of support for family members, and is helping the kids feel comfortable with themselves, and to not be afraid to be themselves and act silly with the rest of us!
A very unique set. The mover pieces are just so cool!!

Even the price tag, for you bargain shoppers, is quiet good. We have a couple of more up-scale games that had a heavier price tag than most family games, but this one has them all beat, hands down. It's worth every penny.

Customer Buzz
I love this game so much that I bring it to small parties whenever I can. I've played the original cranium game, but I like this one so much better because it is more current and "hip". The only downfall to this is that after a few years, what was considered "cool" when the game was created is now out of date. Nevertheless, most of the aspects of this game is timeless and that is what makes it great. Much fun and my favorite board game by far.

Customer Buzz
This game is a blast to play with some close friends or family members during the holidays!

Customer Buzz
We play this game every year when we get together for Christmas. If everyone really "gets into it" then you will have a ton of fun playing it. It is hysterical to watch everyone do the different types of charades (such as drawing with your eyes closed, move your partner like a puppet, hum a song). The clay tends to get a little messy if you play on carpet, and after you play the game a bunch of times, you might need to get some new cards (since everyone knows them all). But other than that, you'll get a lot of laughs and enjoyment out of playing this game.

Customer Buzz
Wow! This game had us all laughing, shouting, moving, and thinking. A very dynamic and fun game that is good for small gatherings, but works better as numbers increase. Small children might not be the best participants, but could still join in as part of a larger group.

Customer Buzz
One of the best family games ever -- very fun and it made family time enjoyable

Customer Buzz
Cranium wow is more fun than the original Cranium and the price on Amazon was excellent, about $10 cheaper than everywhere else. We play this game for hours. Some of the questions are for an older audience (because of older tv shows, actors, and songs that are mentioned) but overall it's for everyone. There are new catagories adn all new questions so if you have the original Cranium, this is a great upgrade.

Customer Buzz
We were trying to find a fun, easy game to play when we go over to our friends houses for dinner and game night. we had a blast with it! No matter what talent you have, there's a little for almost everyone's skills. Makes the most shyest, uncoordinated person show their silly side. We've had the best laughs with this game, towards the end of the night we were everyone was getting silly, it's a great game! We highly recommend!
