I bought this and a V-Smile PC Pal brand new from Toys R Us for my kids for Christmas this past year, and by May both were dead. The PC Pal lasted barely five months, and the Cyber Pocket lasted only three. Within the same week, both units just died - they fail to power on either with batteries or AC Adapter. And now we have seven coasters that used to be game cartridges (fortunately most of them were bought used so the amount of wasted money isn't as bad as it could have been).



Needless to say, the reliability of VTech products is pathetic, to say the least. While they were functional my kids had fun with them, but I'd never throw good money after bad by buying another one.

My daughter got this for her 3rd Birthday and loves it. The game that came with the system is a little too hard for her right now but she got a Elmo game for her Birthday as well that she's really good at. She has dropped it a few times and it's survived thus far, but it's only been a week and half...We'll see! She thinks it's like the games she plays on mommy's laptop so that's cool to her. Overall, I'd buy it again. I received it really fast and in great shape, NIB as advertised!

I bought this for my Granddaughter's 5th birthday,she loves it!!! She is able to use the cartridges from her V-Smile console,which makes it seem all brand new! It is a great toy for trips in the car or just at home. Do invest in the power adapters!! Saves lots of battery changes!!!

I got this camera for my daughter's 4th birthday. She hasn't put it down since! She says it is her favorite gift ever. She has figured it out pretty much on her own, including the gaming function. Some of her pictures are actually pretty good... I'm recommending it to everyone I know with young kids.


I was very excited about this toy when we ordered it. The first one we got was DOA and would not work at all. It had been a birthday present so this was a hassle. When we finally got it, it was okay. I would still suggest the Vtech over the other brands.


at first we really liked this camera, perfect for a three year old. but after the second day, we realized if she wanted to use it, we would have to replace the batteries every single day. seriously! on their website, they even say you cant use rechargeables. my daughter was so disappointed when i told her i cant buy batteries for her camera everyday. if we could do it all over, i would have gotten her a cheap, regular digital camera, with a rechargeable battery system.
dont buy this unless you like waisting money on batteries


My 4 year old grandson loves this camera. He takes it everywhere. It is very durable & easy for him to use. Also plays games on it. Very good value.


Both 3 and 7 yr old boys like to play with this. Takes still pics well. My 3 yr old doesn't hold still very long so all of his pics are a blur! Fun, but expensive for a play camera.


My son (4.5) and daughter (2.) love this camera. We also have the Fisher price camera but this camera is much better. Besides taking photos, you are able to record video and play games. I would highly recommend this camera for kids.


I ordered this camera for my 9 yr old nephew. I was a little worried since the package said for ages 3+, but it is great for him. It's really durable and takes amazingly good pictures. The only complaint I have is that it drains batteries. I had ordered the Fisher Price kid tough camera as well, and this is a way better camera.


We purchased two of these cameras for our grandsons (both age 5). They absolutely love them. Needless to say, they have become a regular part of their play and creativity. A perfect gift for kids, no matter how artistic they are, although, in this case we have two very creative boys who are cousins.


We bought this for my 3 year old because my 5 year old has the orange one and we liked that one soooo much. Oddly, this blue one isn't as nice. Most things are the same but the main thing I do not like is the darkness of the LCD screen. It's actually terrible. When taking pictures indoors (which is where most of our pictures are taken in the wintertime) you can barely see through the LCD. I returned the first one I bought thinking it was an error in the camera. Amazon was great and sent me a new one which I think might be a tiny bit better but it's still really dark and the kids have a hard time seeing through it. We held up the orange one side by side with the blue one and it's literally night and day difference. The orange one is by far lighter and you can see through it sooooo much better!! They made a few good changes to the blue one as opposed to the orange one but those were minor. The main thing is the LCD screen because that is what they look through to take the picture. They really need to fix that. Luckily, my 3 year old only notices once in awhile.....I'm sure I care more than he does. :)


My son had this camera in the orange color a couple of years ago, and lost it at a store or restaurant. He was really upset when we finally realized it was missing. When I saw it on sale for $39.99, I jumped at the opportunity to get him a new one. Best of all it was blue--his favorite color! This product is durable, user friendly, you can add a digital card to add a great deal more memory to it. It has several games and allows you to take videos too. A great first camera. My son is 5 years old, and still loves it as much as he did when he was 3.
