This toy was giving a review on a parents website as being good for a children with special needs. I disagree. I work with special education. This toy doesn't work well. When it does work children with special needs have a hard time catching the butterflies intime, before they hit the floor. I do not recommend it for children with special needs nor do I recommend it at all.

My 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter like this toy but more time is spent loading up the butterflies than actually playing it. I agree with the previous reviews that state, "It needs more power!" as half the butterflies never come out. It also needs a better design. The inside of the elephant has lots of nooks and crannies where the butterflies get stuck and cannot be pushed out with a weak motor. If they added another layer of plastic inside to streamline the butterflies up the tube it might be helpful.

This toy is a pain in the neck.
I thought it looked cute and may be fun for my twins. The "butterflies" all come out very quickly and mostly all over the floor. It takes a few seconds for the fun to be over. SO.... it's reset and restart every 30 seconds or so.
That is frustrating for the parent and the kids. The quality of this product could be better, as could the execution (timed releases of the butterflies perhaps).
I found it very annoying personally. The kids didn't really enjoy it after the first 2-3 resets.

My daughter played with Elefun at a playdate and fell in LOVE. So for her 2nd birthday that same friend got it for her as a gift. She's 3 1/2 and still loves it. It eats batteries but so what? LOL The ONLY downfall is that it's a very repetitive game for the adult. As much as I adore my daughter, it gets very boring to have to refill the elephant over and over and over. Sometimes all the butterflies burst out of the elephant. I wish they could flutter out a little slower. Other than that it's sturdy and a lot of fun for the little ones.

I found an ELEFUN game at a garage sale about 6 years ago and had never heard of it before. My boys played and played with it. It seemed to eat up the batteries rather qickly but they absolutly loved it. After a couple of years the fan stopped working, but to our delight they started advertising it on tv so we bought a new one. The newer model was a real disappointment. The fan never really worked and the butterflies came out about one per minute if you hold the trunk open and tap the side- not what any of us had in mind. Sad that they haven't quite got it right yet- very fun when it worked!
